    Mechanisms and Machine Theory is a main technical basic course of mechanical specialties in colleges and universities, which is very important for training students in mechanical integrated design and creativity capabilities. This course is not only a transition for students to learn technical basic courses and specialized courses, but also lay the necessary foundation for students to be engaged in mechanical designing, research and developing works.

   According to the requirements of the innovation society for talent cultivation and the objectives of our university to cultivate application-oriented high-level engineers and technical personnels, we built a new curriculum system, i.e. taking designing as the basis, analysis serves for designing, and finally we focus on the innovative designing of mechanical system. The course objectives are making students master the basic theory, knowledge and skills of mechanism and machine dynamics, analysis and synthesis methods of basic mechanisms, and get preliminary capacity to perform innovative motion design of mechanical system, thus they can have the ability for integrated designing, innovative designing and engineering practice in the age of the information technology.

   As early as 1996, mechanisms and machine theory was one of the most important basic courses and was ranged in the first class in our university. It was awarded the excellent course of Liaoning province in 2001 and 2007, and was awarded excellent resource sharing class of Liaoning province in 2012. We prepared all the course videos, basic supporting and expanding resources for network resource construction. After the long-term construction of two generations, we have accumulated a large number of curriculum resources and can range in the first class in Liaoning province. After integration of the course contents, it is more suitable for cultivating of innovative talents.

      机械原理是高等学校机械类各专业的一门主干技术基础课,在培养学生的机械综合设计能力和创新能力所需的知识结构中占有十分重要的地位,本课程不仅为学生学习相关技术基础课程和专业课程起承前启后的作用,而且为学生今后从事机械设计、研究和开发创新奠定必要的基础。

      根据创新社会对人才培养的要求,结合学校培养应用型高级工程技术人才目标,机械原理课程建立了“以设计为主线、分析为设计服务、落脚点是机械系统方案创新设计”的课程新体系,课程目标是使学生掌握机构学和机器动力学的基本理论、基本知识和基本技能,学会常用基本机构的分析和综合方法,具有进行机械系统运动方案创新设计的初步能力,进而具有在信息技术时代条件下的综合设计能力、创新设计能力和工程实践能力。

      早在1996年之前机械原理就是学校重点建设的基础课之一,在1996年被评为学校的一类课,在2001年被评为第一批“辽宁省优秀课”,在2007年被评为“辽宁省精品课”,2012年首批被评为“辽宁省精品资源共享课”,完成了全部课程录像、配套基本资源和拓展资源等课程网络资源建设。经过两代人的长期建设,机械原理课程积累了大量的课程资源,在全省机械原理教学中走在前列。课程内容多次整合,使之更适合创新型人才培养需要。
